The tips presented on these pages are intended to be used by those who are familiar with basic computer functions, operating systems, and software.
These pages are not intended to instruct the new user.
The basic rule is, if you're not sure, don't do it. If you have problems, contact the vendor or manufacturer. No one but YOU is liable for any damage you cause.

Most of these tips are are tested, but not all, and not on all systems, so there could be errors or conflicts. This is a collection of time-saving and system optimizing tips gathered from books, magazines and various web sites.

Before trying anything, please backup your system, or write down the original information. This is a good tip anyway, you never know when your hard drive will fail, or a virus will attack.

Good Windows files to back-up:

These files take up very little space and will probably fit on just 4 or 5 floppies. DO NOT back up on the same hard drive (what if the drive fails?).
There are many methods of back-up; msbackup, pkzip, tape...
